Come take the opportunity to hear from our Administrators, Teachers, Counselors, and most importantly, our students about the positive experiences we have had while developing and implementing our program.

Blanket Collection for the Homeless
Throughout the month of October we will be collecting “Spare Change" to better the lives of homeless individuals who live in an encampment setting by providing them with a new tent and sleeping bag. If each student at WMS donated a Quarter and each staff member a Dollar, we would be able to make a difference in the lives of 4 homeless individuals! Collection Jars can be found in the Cafeteria. Make sure you place your “Spare Change” in your grade level jar.
Throughout the Month of October, Quartermasters Club also will be collecting new or gently used sleeping bags, and blankets to donate to individuals so that they may keep warm this winter as they live outside in the cold. Drop them off in Room 1132.

Student-Led Conferences
At the end of each grading period (1,2, and 3), parents will come to school with their child to review the progress their child has made in each of their classes.  In addition, report cards will be distributed.  This will be a meeting between parents and child.  Teachers will be present in a supervisory role only and will not be available to meet with the parent.  These conferences are 100% student-led.

Student-led Conferences are not regular school days.  Students should only come to school with a parent to participate in a student-led conference during the following dates and times:
 First Marking Period – November 12 ((8 AM - 12 PM and 6 PM - 8 PM)
Second Marking Period - February 11 (8 AM - 12 PM and 6 PM - 8 PM)
Third Marking Period - April 28 (8 AM - 12 PM and 6 PM - 8 PM)

Global Read-Aloud Program

The librarians, Mrs. Peel and Mrs. Bonham, are promoting literacy by bringing the Global Read-Aloud program to WMS.  Each day they go into independent study classrooms and read from the Middle School selection Fish.  Students are making predictions and giving supporting details about characters, country of origin and discussing author style. Technology is also being incorporated into the presentations thru Today's Meet. More details at www.globalreadaloud.com.

Find Your Neighborhood Bus Stop & Schedule
The Woodbridge Middle School Bus Schedule is now available.  In addition, a new online search tool lets you find your neighborhood bus stop and schedule. Enter your address and grade information to learn the bus stop and times for your assigned school. You will be presented with the bus number and approximate time of bus arrival for pickup.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up Policies
Parents are reminded that when students are dropped off in the morning, they are to drive to the far end of the drop off lane to have students enter the school. Students are to remain in vehicles and not exit from cars at the set of doors located on the 'curve' of the parking lot as it jams up cars on York Drive. In addition NO students are to be exiting cars that are parked on York Drive. Parents are to use only the designated area in school parking lot located on the side of the building nearest the baseball field/tennis courts. All students are to remain in the parking lot area designated for car riders.
